INTRODUCING RITA

RITA has finally arrived!  She is quite the unexpected guest in our home.  It all started so innocently a couple of weeks ago when our eldest daughter, who just moved into her first apartment, was looking for a sofa.  I don't know what got into me, but I hastily said, "take ours!".  Left with an empty wall, and no desire to purchase any new furniture, I started moving and rearranging what we had.  What I was eventually left with was a large dining room wall that I can view from my kitchen.

After about an hour spent surfing-the-web, I found RITA through a dealer of vintage posters in France.  After a weekend of gut-wrenching arguments for and against RITA, having always wanted a vintage French food poster...  AND finally having an empty wall, I surprised myself by doing the unthinkable.  I actually went ahead with the purchase!  What you must understand about me... I don't often buy on impulse. But I do not regret ordering RITA one bit.  While I work in my kitchen with the soundtrack of Amélie playing in the background, I look out into my dining room and feel like I am in a French café.  Now what could be better than that?  Yes, I know, but I'm not going there any time soon...

Eileen,

Please tell me the brand of those fabulous red shoes in your opening photo. Are they Campers?
