My life has recently taken a new, creative and gratifying path. Forty-six years ago, the day before classes were to start at the Kansas City Art Institute, I dropped out of Painting/Printmaking, and decided to major in Fiber Art. I never picked up a brush after that. It wasn't because I didn't love to draw and paint; I had done that as long as I could remember. I was consumed by it.. When I started working, I couldn't stop. I decided it might be best to walk away from it.
I've had many other creative outlets, but as time passed, I knew I needed an ACT 2 in Fine Art. In spring of 2017, I finally returned to painting, but this time, instead of oils, I dived into watercolor. After two years, I am finally feeling comfortable in that medium, although oils are always in the back of my mind.
Now, with my two daughters grown, I'm making up for lost time. I try to paint every day, but also need to find time in my kitchen -- because I still LOVE to eat! I live in Saint Paul, Minnesota, with my husband Bill, pied French Bulldog, Bisous, and my daughters close by.
