I Feel Like I've Been to France

I got away yesterday.  I left my kitchen and my garden behind.  I packed my bags.  But my bags weren't packed with clothes, euros, or a passport.  They were packed with my camera and freshly-made French macarons.  I went to visit a friend for a photo shoot.

You see, Roddie's house was just made to display French macarons.  It has a very European feel; thanks in part to that fabulous French mirror and the French dining room table with hand-caned chairs.  I've always said, it's hard to take a bad photograph in France.  I feel the same way about Roddie's house.  When you're given such beautiful things to work with, it's easy.

My favorite room is the dining room.  White garlands accented with gold are stenciled onto a milky gray wall.  A lovely, intimate space for a dinner party.

                                              Totally enchanting, isn't it?

Thanks for letting me visit, Roddie.  It was inspirational as always!

That is one fabulous house! Where does she find those things? The horseshoe chair? the light fixture? the covered cake stand with your exquisite macaroons?

Wow, fun visit.

I don't know what makes me want to stare in wonder at these pictures, is it your baking skills (those macarons, simply devine!) or is it the way of you photographed this exquisitely decorated home?

Thank you for both! :-)

I am sorry it took me so long to come back to your blog. I did not forget your inquiry about the lens I use. Here it is:
Nikkor Lens, AF-5-DX VR Zoom-Nikkor
18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED

I wished I had a macro lens!
