Dinner-on-the patio (someone else's)... a great house... and a recipe (or two)

Actually, it was appetizers on the patio and dinner indoors.  We successfully dodged raindrops, but no one has a fighting chance against a Minnesota mosquito.
I'll show you around our friends' home -- the patio and indoors -- and give you a couple of recipes from our dinner that night.

Splendid images, reflecting a wonderful evening!

Wegner's Wishbone chair was a surprise, so far from Denmark, proof that great design always fits right in.

Hi Merisi!

There are a lot of Scandinavians in Minnesota, and all aspects of Scandinavian design abound here from architecture to furniture (and food).

What a beautiful home and evening!
I love jacquard Provencal tablecloths too......but we have a new outdoor long rectangle table, so none of my lovely cloths fit anymore!!! (they were all round ones!). Williams Sonoma has some nice ones, even nicer than the ones I bring back from France!
:)

Stacey --

I have a couple of round tables that could use tablecloths ;))

What great adventures you have making the dining round-robin. The sun-glo wall color is beautiful. It looks like it would change hues as the daylight washes over in shades of light.
And your cake is, once again dear Eileen, out of a pastry shop.
Glad you all got one more semi-summery meal (ah, excuse the pun... of course of know it's coming) under your belt. ;)
Doesn't make it any easier to hear even with the warning :\

Both of your posts this week were just wonderful. And thanks for giving me a creative idea of what to do with the cast iron radiators in our new old house.

Is the coconut cake recipe posted anywhere here?
I can't find it.

Joanna -- Clicking on the name of the cake will take you to the recipe. I just changed the color of the name/link so it is easier to see. It is the best cake!!
