This stoneware water cooler has certainly come a long way since being found in an Iowa farm basement with an oily rag stuck in the top last year. My son was thrilled to have bought it. Now it's up for auction at Skinner's March 7th American Furniture & Decorative Arts sale. Skinner recognized its wonderful appeal to both folk art and stoneware collectors and has given it one full page in their auction catalog. Not much is know about it except for "Quigley & Sons" written in the center of the hand pointing to the heavens. A never-before-seen example, we're excited to see what happens March 7th!
